From a humble three-song acoustic demo to genre-defying ideas to global symphonic metal domination. 

To celebrate the group’s 30th anniversary, this text could go on listing gold and platinum awards, chart triumphs, the 50+ countries toured, the 9 million records sold, or do something that fits its main characters so much better. Something creative, something personal. “The Greatest 30 Years On Earth” intends to give you just that. Though not humble in format, this massive 4LP & Blu-Ray box and 3CD & Blu-Ray Earbook contains a detailed 2026 interview with Emppu and Tuomas, who take you back to that aforementioned night in Kitee, reflect humorously and honestly on the band’s incredible history, open a treasure trove of private photos, accompanied by rare and unpublished behind the scenes images provided by long term NIGHTWISH friends and collaborators. 
This release also documents NIGHTWISH’s latest tour from 2022 to 2023 with stunning recordings and footage captured at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome and at Rantakenttä in Kitee, with Floor Jansen pulling off magical performances during these most unforgettable shows of the tour, closing the circle at the place where NIGHTWISH’s ascent to the stars began over three decades ago. 

In addition to that, “The Greatest 30 Years On Earth” features a documentary by Ville Lipiäinen allowing fascinating close-up insights into the songwriting work of Holopainen where his creativity, simplicity, love for music and self-irony shine through. As an extra, this release also includes a selection of songs remixed and remastered at Finnvox Studios originally recorded live in the studio during 2021’s virtual live shows from the `Islanders Arms`. “The Greatest 30 Years On Earth” is a comprehensive collection documenting NIGHTWISH’s past and present, A Vehicle Of Spirit with countless more stories yet to be told.
